The YBBI is an organization and business development conference whose purpose is to offer a forum for business leaders to connect, learn from, and grow with fellow entrepreneurs. Hosted in the lovely area of the city that is known for its excellent local eateries, the conference has become a regular fixture.
YBBI is a bit of a strange organization. First, it’s not really part of a business or startup community. Second, its members are business leaders who come from all different industries. Third, the conferences always have some sort of theme. Fourth, they’re almost always free.
As a business leader myself, I understand why there are so many free conferences. The benefit of a free conference is that people are more likely to stay with the conversation, rather than hopping from session to session and going home to check their email. As I’ve grown to love YBBI, I’ve found that I am more inclined to attend.
The first meeting of the YBBI is a nice way to get a sense of what’s going on and to know those who come to YBBI. For instance, the conference I attended with Ben was a great meeting with all the great people we had here in NYC. We had a great conference, and I had a great time. I would have liked to have done the next meeting with a more representative group.
As mentioned above, I was not a member of the YBBI, but I am a member of the Business Institute for Entrepreneurship, and I attend their meetings regularly. I attended one of their meetings recently and was very impressed with the people there. I think the membership list needs to be made up of several people with business backgrounds, not just the CEO’s of big corporations. In addition, the meetings are well-organized and well-attended.
I think that the Business Institute for Entrepreneurs is an excellent organization to start with. I can’t speak for other members, but I’ve attended at least once a year for the past 10 years. The membership is composed of professional business owners and entrepreneurs. The goal of the business institute is to provide educational and networking opportunities for these folks.

The other great thing about going to a business school is you get to meet and get to know a lot of the people in the group. The networking is just as valuable and powerful, so it is a great thing to do.
