I’m the one who really likes to make my own embroidery shop in the Philippines. I’m a bit of a computer geek and I love all kinds of embroidery. I’ve been designing an embroidery shop for almost three centuries now, and one of the things I love the most is that you can print your own embroidery in a few days, or even just use a little fabric.
Im a member of the International Embroiderers Association, the oldest and largest group of embroiderers in the world. They have a booth in the Philippines and sell both home-made and commercial embroidery. My shop isn’t their official shop, but I do take orders there.
We’re in the middle of a new season of embroidery, and a new embroidery shop has just opened here in Baguio. It’s called Embroidery by the Sea and they specialize in delicate and traditional designs. It’s a great place to explore.
I can’t help but wonder how embroidereers are going to compete with this. I mean, I love to sew but I don’t really like embroidery. And if I do like embroidery, then I need to know more about it and where it can be done.
They are a creative and artful industry. They make everything from clothing to wedding programs, handbags to quilts, and embroidery to paper crafts. They are very innovative. And they are very good at what they do. Which is why I love stitching.
I have lots of friends that do embroidery. I work with my embroiderer all the time. He is awesome and I love that he is a part of my life. He is also a great person and a great friend. He and I often run into each other at places where I work. He still wears his old jeans and boots. But he is not sad about it. I can see him going on to the next embroiderer and making new clothing for me.
I know there’s no way that I can stitch for the rest of my life, but I am really starting to enjoy that embroidery business.
The people that I work with in the embroidery business love to see the pictures of my embroidery business in their windows, and they love to see every place where I work.
There are a number of embroiderers (especially small embroiderers) in town. Most offer classes in embroidery, but many will also give you a free lesson or two on how to do it. For example, I once took a class in embroidery for a one-hour session on a Friday at a local embroidery shop. I only learned how to stitch with the right stitches that I’d learned on my own.
I haven’t been embroidery sewing for a long time, and I learned on my own, so that was fun. The embroiderers also offer classes in other needle crafty skills, like making a quilt and how to make a quilt pillow. I didn’t try these classes out because I don’t have the patience or talent for that kind of thing.
